MONDAY 15th June

On Monday 15th June 2015 we are required to have maintenance done over lunchtime, which may result in a short interruption to the power supply at Bodmin.  If this happens then you will NOT be able to contact the surgery by telephone.  We'd like to reassure our patients that any disruption will be kept to a bare minimum and will be at most 30 minutes. If you have a life threatening emergency then ring 999, or if you need advice during this brief disruption that cannot wait then please call NHS 111 on 111.  We will restore our normal service as soon as possible. 

ON-LINE SERVICES FOR PATIENTS

Did you know you can do many things on-line at Carnewater Practice?  You can make and cancel appointments, order your repeat medication, and also see some of your medical record, showing details of any current medication and any allergies or adverse reactions to medication you have.  There's even an App for these on-line services so you can access them from your smartphone.  If you'd like to do more on-line please contact Reception and ask about enrolling for on-line services.

Annual Patient Participation Report

To see our annual report please click on the Patient Group link on the right below, and then click on the Annual Patient Participation Report tab.  You can see what your Patient Group have achieved this year, and how they help shape services and work with the practice to achieve this.  If you are interested in joining the group, please contact the secretary - details also on the patient group link below.

Is your life affected by Dementia?

Are you a carer for someone with dementia?  There is a walking group in Bodmin for dementia sufferers, their families and carers.  For more information please click the button below right "Dementia Walks" under Further Information.

Care Quality Commission

Carnewater Practice has recently been inspected by CQC, and we are pleased to announce that we have been rated as "GOOD" across the board.  If you'd like to read the findings of the inspection team then please see the link below.

FRIENDS AND FAMILY TEST

From 1st December Carnewater Practice will be participating in the NHS England Friends and Family Test.  For more information and how to have your say please see the Friends and Family button on the right below. 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS ABOUT YOUR DATA

GPs are legally required under the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to provide personal medical data to the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) for the care data programme.  This process will start in late summer 2014.  

You have a choice. If you are happy for your informationto be used in this way you do not have to do anything.

If you have any concerns or wish to prevent this from happening you can opt out - there is a form on the Care Data page on this website.

NHS 111 - when the surgery is closed 

NHS 111 launched in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly on 4 February 2014. The easy to remember number replaces NHS Direct’s 0845 4647 service and should be called if the surgery is closed and if medical help is needed fast but it's not a 999 emergency. The service will be provided by South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT), which already runs the 111 service in Devon, Dorset and Somerset. If you need medical advice then please call 111.

Calls to the NHS 111 service are free from both landlines and mobile phones with a contract. (Pay as you go mobiles do have to have at least 1p credit to get through to 111)

If you have a life threatening medical emergency please dial 999.

Are you aged between 40 and 75?  If so you are entitled to a FREE NHS Health Check.  Please see the information under the Clinics and Services tab above.
