We have to announce that Dr Stead and Dr Tullberg are to retire from Carnewater Practice from 31st March 2015. Their contribution to the practice, the care of our patients, and the wider community over many years is immeasurable, and they will be much missed by us all.
We wish them both a long and very happy retirement.
Also we have to announce that our Nurse Practitioner, Paul Jeffrey, is leaving the practice at the end of October. Paul has been with us for 33 years, longer than any other member of the team, and he will be very much missed. We wish him well in his new post with NHS England.
Please speak to Reception if you have any queries.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS ABOUT YOUR DATA
GPs are legally required under the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to provide personal medical data to the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) for the care data programme. This process will start in late summer 2014.
You have a choice. If you are happy for your informationto be used in this way you do not have to do anything.
If you have any concerns or wish to prevent this from happening you can opt out - there is a form on the Care Data page on this website.
To help you make your choice there is more information on the link below marked Care Data - please take time to read this. Thank you.
The Flu Season is nearly upon us, and here at Carnewater we will again be offering drop in flu vaccination clinics, both in Bodmin and Lewannick in October. For dates and times and to see whether you qualify for a vaccination please see the link below.
NHS 111 - when the surgery is closed
NHS 111 launched in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly on 4 February 2014. The easy to remember number replaces NHS Direct’s 0845 4647 service and should be called if the surgery is closed and if medical help is needed fast but it's not a 999 emergency. The service will be provided by South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT), which already runs the 111 service in Devon, Dorset and Somerset. If you need medical advice then please call 111.
Calls to the NHS 111 service are free from both landlines and mobile phones with a contract. (Pay as you go mobiles do have to have at least 1p credit to get through to 111)
If you have a life threatening medical emergency please dial 999.
List Maintenance Project
Kernow Clinical Commissioning Group
The NHS is carrying work out in the South West to make sure the patient details on GP lists are accurate. Letters are being sent to some patients, but not all. If you do receive a letter please either confirm your details, or submit any changes in writing - a pre-paid envelope is provided. You can confirm details are correct and there are no changes either by post using the envelope provided, or by Freephone, text or online.
It is important that you respond to the letter, so that you can be contacted in an emergency, or to be invited for health screening programmes. Please respond with in 4 week, otherwise the NHS will assume you have moved away and begin the process to remove your records from the practice list.
