Duty Team

After running our emergency team for several months, we feel the new structure has benefited both staff and patients.

Can we remind you that the service is for URGENT appointments, for conditions that have come on recently or got worse and cannot wait for another 1-2 days.

There is no specification as to whom patients will see as this is decided on by details given on booking.

If you do not wish to disclose information to our Reception team on booking then no appointment will be made without a call back first.

If you attend our duty clinic, be prepared to wait. All times given are approximate, as emergencies are unpredictable and we cannot anticipate exact times.

Thank you

Dr Alison Nankervis

Did you know…?

You can now book an appointment on line.

Appointments are available from 8.10 am to 6pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  We also offer appointments on alternate Saturday mornings - this wide range of appointment times gives our patients the opportunity to come to the surgery at a time to suit.

Here at Carnewater Practice, we offer a wide range of appointments at times to suit you and your family.  We do our best to accommodate your requirements where we are able.  If you need to see someone urgently you will always be able to, although it may not be your usual doctor or nurse.  We offer a mix of appointments, some of which can be booked on the day, and some which can be booked ahead thereby offering a wide choice to help to cater for all our paitents’ needs.

Same day appointments can be booked by telephone or in person from 8am each day.  You can also book an appointment up to a week ahead or more if your doctor has requested this, enabling you to organise your diary to suit you. You can also book appointments on a Saturday morning if you find it impossible to attend during normal surgery hours—please ask one of our receptionists for more information, or book on line. When you call the surgery the receptionist will ask you a couple of questions regarding the appointment you are wishing to book.  These questions have been set and approved by our GP's to enable you to be seen by the most appropriate clinician within the best timescale.  You can be assured that all communication is dealt with in the strictest of confidence.  Our aim is to help support you and deal with your enquiry in an efficient timely manner.

Appointments for both surgeries can be made by telephoning 01208 269988.  Lines are open from 8.00 am.  Or you can book your appointment on line - please follow the link above.  PLEASE NOTE - Online booking is only available for DOCTOR and Nurse Practitioner appointments at present.  Nurse appointments online coming soon!

Please phone as early as possible if you wish to be seen on the day, and you will normally be offered an appointment the same day.  If you wish to see a particular doctor or nurse we will try to accommodate your request, but an alternative will be offered if not possible.
