PATIENT NOTICE - BOOKING APPOINTMENTS FROM 12TH DECEMBER 2016
Starting from 12th December 2016 the receptionists will be asking each patient a couple of questions regarding the appointment you are wishing to book. These questions have been set and approved by our GP's to enable you to be seen by the post appropriate clinician within the best timescale.
You can be assured that all communication is dealt with in the strictest of confidence.
Our aim is to help support you and deal with your enquiry in an efficient timely manner.

BERRYCOMBE CAR PARK RE-OPENS TO PATIENTS AND VISITORS TO CARNEWATER PRACTICE
The Council has agreed to make Berrycombe Car Park available to patients and visitors to Carnewater Practice between the hours of 8.00am to 18.00pm. The car park signs will change to permit holders only from 18.00pm to 8.00am.
RETIREMENT OF DR HIGNELL
As many of you will know, Dr Hignell is retiring from Carnewater Practice at the end of March. I am sure you will join with us in wishing him and happy, healthy and very long retirement.
NEW PARTNER
We are very pleased to announce that Dr Dale Staff is joining the practice from Monday 20th February. Dr Staff is an experienced GP and he is looking forward to getting to know the practice and its patients. He will be working on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Welcome Dr Staff!
New Staff Member Joins the Team
We are delighted to welcome GEORGE KEMPNY to the team. George is a very experienced Pharmacist, and is joining the team to help deal with medication queries and reviews. He will be speaking to and seeing patients to deal with their queries and helping the GPs with reviews. We are sure he will be great addition to the Carnewater Team - Welcome George!
MAJOR ROADWORKS IN BODMIN
There are major roadworks in Bodmin which are expected to last at least 11 months. The works will include road closures, and diversions which will change regularly.
ON-LINE SERVICES FOR PATIENTS
Did you know you can do many things on-line at Carnewater Practice? You can make and cancel appointments, order your repeat medication, and also see some of your medical record, showing details of any current medication and any allergies or adverse reactions to medication you have. There's even an App for these on-line services so you can access them from your smartphone. If you'd like to do more on-line please contact Reception and ask about enrolling for on-line services.

Care Quality Commission

FRIENDS AND FAMILY TEST

GPs are legally required under the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to provide personal medical data to the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) for the care data programme. This process will start in late summer 2014.
You have a choice. If you are happy for your informationto be used in this way you do not have to do anything.

NHS 111 - when the surgery is closed
NHS 111 launched in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly on 4 February 2014. The easy to remember number replaces NHS Direct’s 0845 4647 service and should be called if the surgery is closed and if medical help is needed fast but it's not a 999 emergency. The service will be provided by South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT), which already runs the 111 service in Devon, Dorset and Somerset. If you need medical advice then please call 111.
Calls to the NHS 111 service are free from both landlines and mobile phones with a contract. (Pay as you go mobiles do have to have at least 1p credit to get through to 111)
